A story of faith in 1791 and 1801, pilgrimage today and encounters in 2027.

When faith enters history

Based on historical sources, the story follows the 1791 ritual dispute and petitions, investigation in Jeonju, court judgment, and the 1801 prohibition edict and Ji-heon’s transfer. It explores the choices through which personal faith entered history.[19]

Individual choices, distinct times

Yun Ji-chung and Kwon Sang-yeon died as martyrs in Jeonju in the 1791 Jinsan case under Jeongjo. Ji-heon died in Jeonju in 1801, during Queen Dowager Jeongsun’s regency under Sunjo, after investigations in Jeonju and Hanyang. Their lives carry a shared memory of faith and resolve.[3]

Hope toward Korea 2027

Ochre paths give way to bright daylight and blue skies, and the memory of martyrdom opens toward encounters among the world’s youth. This creative vision of Korea 2027 expresses faith, hope and solidarity.
